Amazing! That little green frog understands art as having very personal and universal characteristics at the same time. Kermit actually sees himself as art! When we experience art we can recognize that we are ‘seeing’ a reflection of ourselves. Due to the fast paced frequently impersonal life we live, it becomes important to take stock of our lives in some fundamental way--art provides that way. By engaging in thinking about art or doing art or looking at art with some degree of understanding, we come to realize that we can develop a more complete picture of ourselves in the context of our 21st century world.

WELCOME to Liberty High School’s Spring Art Show 2008 - Online! We realize that not everyone was able to attend the Spring Art Show, in the brand new Gallery and Showcase Spaces in the Commons Building. The talent and sophistication of Liberty's artists needed a more permanent showcase. Over 200 pieces of student work completed in elective courses within Fine and Practical Arts offerings are now available for your viewing pleasure.

The following people, through their leadership, guidance and instuction, made the 2008 Spring Art Show Possible:

Kevin Long, Fine & Practical Arts Chair • Samuel Creyer • Heidi Landis • Nancy Lewis • Donna Swift • Ross Makary, Set- up

The following students played an instrumental role in preparing the "live show:": Keri Schreefer, Program Design/Planning • Matt Vernon & Josh Miller, Gallery Preparation

The Online Edition of the 2008 Spring Art Show would not have been possible without the work and efforts of the following students: Keri Schreefer, Program Design/Planning, Matt Vernon & Josh Miller, Gallery Prep; Alyssa Stenger, Nicole Kyriakopoulos, name checks and Photographer Alexis Nadjadi.
