Welcome to Young Writer Online! With the overwhelming success of our first issue, we are pleased to present the second issue of Young Writer Online. Full of new poems and pieces of art, this issue is brimming to the top with the talent of Liberty High School students.

Picture an erupting volcano,
Spewing ash and lava tumultuously.
Or picture a reckless earthquake
a smirk, barely showing teeth
slight roll of your eyes
looking away, but
As I break free, your power grows stronger
Your trick compares to the calm before storms
To be really alone in the world
Is to be numb.
To feel nothing.
Creeping in the day,
I carved your name into a tree
in the woods behind my house
at a strange familiar hour, my eyelids up,
You are not your weight
You are the weight
The stars put on your shoulders,
Common eyes, no disguise.
Do you mind?
Will you ever stop to realize
That this shell that you inhabit
Look at the sky
Blue or black or gray
No matter the color,
feels like its being
